The Kenya National Union of Teachers- KNUT, is embroiled in a leadership battle that could ruin the once strong body. Secretary General Mudzo Nzili is battling it out with chairman Wilson Sossion, who was vocal during the teachers strike, that failed to yield a substantial salary increase for the teachers. The union has
been weakened by a split of KUPPET, which is a union mostly for high school teachers.
