AU to petition ICC for withdrawal from Rome Statute.

The African Union has petitioned the ICC for some of the Kenyan Cases to be tried locally, the cases are beginning to have an impact on the running of government affairs in the country. The Kenyan government, through the government spokesman Manoa Esipisu, says that the ICC needs to recalibrate its position in
regard to the changing circumstances, and also given the position held by the ICC indictees, President Kenyatta, and Deputy President William Ruto. African governments have accused the ICC of 'race witchunting' and have threatened a mass withdrawal from the Rome Statute.
