The Deputy House Minority leader- Jakoyo Midiwo, rattled many Jubilee members the wrong way when he called them 'thieves'. In fact, he believes that 70 percent of Kenyans believe that the elections were stolen. The Gem MP can be quite vocal, especially on issues he considers passionate. The conviction in his voice, the clarity of his ideas, and the cogent arguments he made during the anti-ICC debate have made some to
speculate that he could be the successor to raila Odinga's Nyanza political base.
While James Orengo is no doubt another heir to the throne, he still doesn't have the energy he had in the 1990s. Prof Anyang' Nyong'o would definitely not connect to the grassroots voters, and at times, could come across as intellectually arrogant. This leaves Jakoyo Midiwo in a prime position to take over the Luo Nyanza political base from Raila Odinga- that is if Raila decides to call it quits any time soon.
