ICC Witness likely to open old wounds in Rift Valley.
The witness number 536 has opened many old wounds, especially between the Kikuyu and Kalenjin communities living in Rift valley. That they found a way to reconcile with each other is no mean feat. That they even voted for the same party was something that caught many political scientists totally off guard. However, the fragile peace in the Rift valley will likely be tested by the chilling tales of the Kiambaa church burning. The church burning reminds one of the Rwandan genocide, or the Jewish camps in Nazi Germany. That the suspect, Stephen Chamalan, was set free by the High court in Nakuru, speaks of the long road that the Kenyan Judiciary will have to walk before we can handle the serious crimes against humanity.
