The government will close down fake colleges, as the number of graduates continues to increase unabated. Prof. Jacob Kaimenyi, the education cabinet secretary, said at the Chuka University graduation ceremony. Employers have lamented on the declining quality of college and university education, as unscrupulous businessmen flood the education sector and offer fake courses. The number of Kenyan universities has
increased to nearly 50 over the past ten years, and the number of graduates increased to almost 100,000 per year. However, the number of employment opportunities have remained stagnant, leading to many unemployed youth.
